Five clients with pilates balls around the reformers at Isla, under the studio's neon sign

Koh Samui, Thailand

A small studio that pays attention

Isla is one room, ten wooden reformers, and a rule we never break: ten people in a class, never eleven. Not because small sounds boutique — because the point of reformer pilates is being corrected, and a teacher watching thirty people is watching nobody.

Most of this island is passing through, and the studio is built for that. Nothing locks you in: packs instead of subscriptions, nothing renews on its own, and a pack does not start counting down until you book your first class with it. Buy on the day you land; start the day you are ready.

How we teach

Precision first. Sweat follows.

Every class is taught in English, and every teacher will tell you when your shoulders creep up or your back starts doing your glutes’ work. Expect your name, not “you in the back”. Expect to be met where you are — first-timers get the machine explained before the class starts, and anyone with an injury is taught around it, not through it.

Who teaches

The people on the floor

  • Teacher Eye

Teaches most mornings and knows every regular by name — your form gets corrected, kindly, before you even feel it slip.

  • Teacher Liew

Classically trained and quietly exacting — Liew builds sessions that leave you taller, steadier, and already planning the next one.

Beyond the weekly schedule
